1. Incentive method 

A carbon dioxide laser is a laser that uses electrodes to excite carbon dioxide gas. According to the orientation of metal electrodes, it can be divided into DC excitation and radio frequency excitation.

2. Laser frequency 

The pulse frequency mainly affects the cutting speed and cutting roughness, and high frequency is necessary to obtain high-speed cutting. Most manufacturers now produce CO2 lasers with frequencies below 5000 Hz.

3. Beam divergence angle 

The beam divergence angle is not part of the laser components, but since the laser method has a great influence on the far-field divergence angle, the effect of the beam divergence angle on the cutting quality is reflected in the width and slope of the intercept. The smaller the divergence angle, the narrower the interception width, the smaller the slope, and the higher the quality.

4. Laser method 

Laser method is one of the important goals in measuring laser quality. It can be divided into single mode, fundamental mode and multimode. The basic pattern is the TEM-00 pattern, which has an index of 0 on the X and Y axes, so it's an ideal point. The beam diameter can be obtained by using a TEM-00 mode laser, and due to the small spot size during the cutting process, the incision is obtained and the cutting speed is faster. Multimode is a non-zero index in the XY direction and it has poor beam quality, and it is usually only used for welding and not necessarily for cutting.

5. Laser power 

Laser power includes peak power, energy stability and other factors. Sheets of different thicknesses can be cut with different powers. For example, 4KW laser can cut 20mm thick carbon steel plate, or 15mm stainless steel, 10mm aluminum alloy; 5KW above laser can cut 25mm thick. Carbon steel, stainless steel up to 20mm.
