04 Flexibility of beam shape
QCW fiber laser can choose single-mode or multi-mode output mode. For cutting very thin materials or applications requiring a small spot size, single mode would be the appropriate choice. However, most high-power applications will use top-hat or multimode mode (see illustration).
As a nanosecond fiber laser, it adopts MOPA structure, the highest frequency reaches 1000kHz, and the peak energy is extremely high. There are pulse mode and CW mode, various waveforms can be called, and the heat input can be precisely controlled. This model has great advantages in welding thin plate materials (below 0.2mm), highly reflective materials (copper alloy, aluminum alloy, gold), and dissimilar metal welding. The solder joints of the welded products are well formed, the size is uniform, and the tensile strength and shear strength are significantly improved compared with YAG and millisecond fiber lasers.
1. The beam quality of nanosecond pulsed fiber lasers is high. The core diameter of the optical fiber is in the order of several microns, which can greatly improve the beam quality of the laser, thereby meeting the high-quality requirements of industrial processing.
2. Good heat dissipation. The fiber laser is small in size, does not require a huge water cooling system, and only needs air cooling during high-power operation.
